Workshop 1
We are excited to start 2025 with collaboration in our diocesan cohorts! Our goal is to create and begin implementation of a three-year plan with new approaches in faith formation, guided by the research and resources from the Project.
Workshop 1 will engage parish teams in six activities:
- Team Building Activity: Leadership as Listening
Exploring how listening is an essential leadership skill in the 21st century. It is a key to building trust on leadership teams. When trust levels are high, teams function better. - Listening to Families: Insights from Research
Analyzing the findings from the Parent Café sessions and the Parent Survey and developing a “Portrait of Families in Our Parish” based on the research. - Profile of Parish Faith Formation in the First Two Decades of Life
Creating a profile of current faith formation programs and activities. - Analysis of Faith Formation in the First Two Decades of Life
Reflecting on current parish faith formation from birth through 19 years old using a SWOT analysis that identifies Strengths, Weaknesses/Challenges, Opportunities, and Threats. - Priority Areas for Development in Family & Parent Faith Formation
Using the SWOT analysis to identify up to six areas where the parish needs to strengthen family faith formation from birth through 19 years old. - Vision & Design for Family & Parent Faith Formation in the First Two Decades
Exploring the new approach of the Parents & Families at the Center of Faith Formation Project that reflects the vision of families in the Directory for Catechesis (Vatican, 2020), and is informed by research studies on families and parents.
